2015 - 1883

2015

SEA THE MOON (Photo) is elected "Horse Of The Year 2014". The filly WUNDER finishes an impressive third in the Gr.1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis at Munich. The Görlsdorf bred FUN MAC fights to a third place in the Gr.1 Qatar Prix du Cadran at Paris-Longchamp.

2014

The Görlsdorf homebred three year old SEA THE MOON (Photo) canters to win the 145. German Derby (Gr.1) at Hamburg by eleven lengths. Early he won the Gr.3 Frühjahrspreis des Bankhauses Metzler at Frankfurt/Main and the Gr.2 179. Oppenheim-Union-Rennen at Cologne. Because of an injury he has to end his racing career prematurely and becomes a stallion at Lanwades Stud in Newmarket. Thanks to SEA THE MOON and other successes of BERLIN BERLIN (runner-up in the Gr.1 Grosser Preis von Berlin) and WUNDER (winner of the Gr. 3 Prix Chloe at Chantilly) 2014 is the most successful year ever for Görlsdorf. For the first time ever Görlsdorf wins the German titles for best owner and best breeder.

2013

On September, the eighth, HEY LITTLE GORL (Photo) wins the German St. Leger (Gr.3) at Dortmund – the first classic win for the green and white Görlsdorf colours since reunification. BORN TO RUN wins the Gr. 3 Preis des Winterfavoriten.

In the end it turns out to be best season so far: 300.000 Euros in price money and ranked as number ten in the breeding statistics.

2008

Heike Bischoff-Lafrentz buys the agricultural farm "Görlsdorf Stud" from the Germania airplane company. Two years later she buys the land off the Bischoff community of heirs to become owner of Görlsdorf on her own.

2006

After the death of Dr. Bishoff in 2005 his daughter Heike Bischoff-Lafrentz (Photo) to over to run the stud.

2000

Thanks to the new stallions NESHAD, GREINTON and STERNKÖNIG (Photo) the traditional broodmare-lines at Görlsdorf get an significant input from the mid 90ies onwards. In particular the broodmares of STERNKÖNIG are worldwide sought after pearls of thoroughbred breeding.

1996

DIADOCH is the "Handicapper of the Year". Steeplechaser REGISTANO (Photo) wins six races in Germany alone and is multiple champion over fences. REGISTANA (two time winner of Pardubice Steeplechase), REGALO and REKORD supply plenty of other wins in jump races.

1991

Dr. Hinrich Bischoff (Photo), founder and owner of the airline Germania, rents the stud from the Treuhandanstalt first and then buys it. He restores the compound with great financial and personal engagement and invests in several new broodmares.

1990

Until 1990 VE Görlsdorf wins the Grosser Preis der Dreijahrigen (GDR-Derby) at Hoppegarten eight times as owner or breeder:

1971

The Görlsdorf stallion WILDSCHÜTZ (Photo) by FAHNENTRÄGER / WIENER OPERETTE (BIRKHAHN), born in 1971, is still regarded to be one of the most important stallions for broodmares.

1955

The number of broodmares climbs steadily in the Fifties. The import of stallions like ATATÜRK or STEINADLER (Photo) provide the basis to revitalise the Gorlsdorf breeding.

1945

The Red Army chase away the aristocratic owners of Görlsdorf and all horses. The stud is nationalized and turned into a "VE Görlsdorf".

1935

In the 1930ies Görlsdorf has another heyday under the leadership of Victoria von Redern. In 1935 GOLDTALER (winner in the Grosser Preis von Horst and the Grosser Preis von Danzig) just looses out in the Union-Rennen and Henckel-Rennen to Derby winner STURMVOGEL. Other top class horses are ADANA, HEIDEKONIGIN, HEIDEROSE, VARDAR (winner of the Grosser Preis von Hannover) and YVORNE.

1920

After the death of the stud's founder his oldest sister Victoria von Redern took over - together with her husband Ernst Prince to Lynar - Count von Redern. They built the main house for the stud manager which still exists today.

1918

Towards the end of the Great War the horses of Schlenderhan stud find a contemporary home at Görlsdorf.

1905

Görlsdorf has 30 broodmares.

1899

The Görlsdorf bred NAMOUNA (Photo) wins the German St. Leger at Hannover and the Grosser Preis von Berlin at Hoppegarten. With 300.000 Mark price money she is the most successful German race horse so far. Other Görlsdorf wins include EN BLOC (Grosser Preis von Baden 1897), LOBENGULA (Grosser Preis von Hamburg 1897), MAGISTER (Grosser Preis von Berlin 1898) and ORDONNANZ (Preis der Diana 1900 and Grosser Preis von Hamburg 1900).

1895

IMPULS wins the German Derby only twelve years after the stud has been founded.

1883

Wilhelm Heinrich Sigismund Joachim Viktor Innozenz Count von Redern, a nephew of Friedrich Wilhelm Count von Redern, found Görlsdorf stud.
